For Creators
For Creators
A parcel, a camera, and your own opinion.
We send working creators the same thing a customer receives: a mystery Curated Collection, composed by hand, checked as a whole, and sealed before it leaves. Nobody here has seen inside it since the lid went on, and nobody here will see your film before you post it.
What we are asking for is the half minute in which somebody finds out what is in a box. There is no script, no shot list, and no cut for us to approve. A mystery opened by someone who already knows the contents is not a mystery, and an audience can tell.
The one instruction
Open it on camera. Don’t ask us what’s inside.
Who chose it
Somebody argued about every piece in that box
Petalby is small, and a Curated Collection is put together by a person at a table rather than picked by a system. That person is hard to please. A piece has to be good of its kind, something she would be glad to receive herself, and it has to sit well beside the others — and a composition that does not hold together when it is laid out whole is taken apart and made again rather than packed.
What you receive is one of those, packed exactly as a customer order: pieces drawn from a range of categories across our shelves, none of them revealed until you open it. It arrives gifted, with nothing owed and nothing expected back in the post.
Every box is composed by hand, so we post what we can and say so plainly when we cannot.
The arrangement
What we ask, and what we never will
It is a short list on purpose. Everything on it is either the law or the reason the film is worth watching.
-
What we ask
Say what you actually think. If a piece missed for you, name it — coverage that only ever approves persuades nobody, and we would rather learn.
Tell your audience it was a gift. UK advertising rules ask for the relationship to be clear before anyone taps, and so do we: label the post gifted — or #ad where anything beyond the gift has been agreed — and we will never ask you to soften it.
Tag us so we can find the film: @petalbyuk on Instagram, @petalby_store on TikTok, and #petalbyopening wherever you post.
-
What we do not ask
No follower minimums. We care whether people finish watching what you make, not how many follow you.
No approval of your edit, and no quiet request to take a lukewarm opinion down. Honest is the point.
No re-use of your work without asking. If we would like a clip of yours on a product page, we ask first, in writing, and take no for an answer.
-
Anything involving money
A code named for your audience is possible — checkout accepts typed codes — but we do not promise one here.
Anything involving money, a code or a paid piece, starts as a conversation with a person rather than a form. Say what you have in mind when you write.
Three things to tell us
Write to us
Where you post, what you make, and the address a parcel should find you at. That is all we need to decide, and a person reads every message rather than a form.
