Stated plainly
How reviews work here
A review is only useful while you can trust how it got there. This page is the whole mechanism, and there is nothing about it we would mind you knowing.
Every review comes from a real order
There is exactly one way to leave a Petalby review: the link in an email about an order that was actually placed. Each link is unique to its order and works once. We take no reviews from anywhere else — no widgets, no imported ratings, no third-party platforms — which is why every published review carries the words “Verified purchase” and means them.
If the gift went to someone else, the buyer can forward the email. The words of the person who opened the parcel are the ones we most want.
Published as written, or not at all
We read every review and make one decision: publish it whole, or not at all. Nothing is edited, trimmed or reworded — not a spelling, not the rating. A review we decide not to publish is simply not shown; it is never quietly rewritten into something more comfortable.
There are three reasons a review is not published, and they are the only three: it is abusive or unlawful; it gives personal data about someone else; or it is off-topic and not about a Petalby order. A low rating is never one of them. One star with an honest reason is published exactly as five stars are.
Never paid for
We do not pay for reviews, offer discounts or gifts in return for them, or buy them in from anywhere. The one email we send asks for honest words and offers nothing.
When reviews appear on the site
Every review we approve is published from the first one, on its own and as written. No overall score or star average is shown until five have been published: an average of one or two says less than the reviews themselves do. The same rule governs anything machine-readable: no rating reaches search engines that a visitor cannot see on the page.
One review per order
Each order can carry one review, ever — the system refuses a second, rather than relying on anyone to remember. A hundred orders could produce a hundred reviews; one enthusiastic order can only ever produce one.
The one email we send
Once an order has had time to arrive and be opened, we send a single invitation to review it. One email, once, per order — no reminders and no follow-ups. Ignoring it is a perfectly good answer, and nothing about your order changes if you do.
Our wider position on honesty — what we claim, what we refuse to claim, and why — is on the Ethics & Responsibility page.
