Small British makers, established UK suppliers, and carefully chosen surplus — over-produced, discontinued or displaced stock. Never damaged, expired, returned or defective. Why we buy that way.

We choose the pieces and compose them to a price rather than to a list. Nobody tells the person opening it.

Each Collection is a hand-chosen mix of pieces from across our shelves, composed to its price.

The three photographs above show pieces from Collections we have composed before. Each is an example of the shelf a size draws from rather than one box as it was packed, so yours will hold different pieces, chosen the same way — against each other, and against the four questions anything on our shelves has to answer. It is wrapped by hand in tissue and boxed.

A hand-written card can go in. Give the recipient’s address at the checkout, if it is different from your own, and the parcel goes straight to them.

Every Collection is composed and packed by hand. Pieces are set out, weighed against each other and put back on the shelf when they do not sit together, and only what survives that is wrapped and sent.

Mystery Curated Collections, demystified

What exactly will I get in my Curated Collection?

Every mystery Curated Collection is composed by hand. The flower theme is in the naming; what is inside is not literal flowers or plants. Because it is a surprise, we do not publish the exact contents in advance, and every size is built to the same standard.

Can I request specific items or categories?

Not in a mystery Curated Collection — there the mystery is the whole point, and taking requests would spoil it. Choosing has its own home instead: The Range is where you pick individual pieces one by one and have them arrive simply wrapped. Allergies are the exception everywhere: tell us in the checkout notes and we compose around them, mystery included.

Contents vary, so we cannot guarantee a Collection is free of any given ingredient.

Can I send it straight to them, with a message?

Yes. Put their address in at the checkout and the parcel goes to them rather than to you. There is a box for your message, and a hand-written card can go in with it — we write the message out by hand and tuck it in before the lid goes on. Prices never appear on anything inside the parcel.

Do bigger sizes hold better pieces?

Every Curated Collection is composed to the same standard, whatever its size. A larger size means more to open — not more attention paid to what goes in it.

Is this a subscription?

No — each mystery Curated Collection is a one-off order. If a standing arrangement would suit you, let us know through the contact page; it is something we are considering.

How is my Curated Collection packaged?

In the pared-back Petalby packaging — minimal, considered, and built to protect what is inside on the way to you.

The Spa Edit states the contents of every set

Whichever size you choose, a Curated Collection is composed against the same four questions and checked as a whole before it is packed. If the person opening it would rather know exactly what arrives, the Spa Edit is the same care with nothing held back — named pieces, photographed, wrapped and presented the same way.
