1. We promise the choosing is the product.

A mystery Curated Collection is composed piece by piece by someone who has handled the alternatives and set most of them aside, and it is checked as a whole before it is packed — not as a list of items, but as the thing that will be opened. What you are buying is that judgement.

  2. We promise to say which is which.

Some of what we sell we make ourselves, here, by hand and in small numbers. The rest is made by other people and chosen by us. We will always tell you which of the two a thing is, and we will never let one word cover both.

  3. We promise that nothing is included to fill space.

Every piece is chosen on its own merits, and a smaller Curated Collection holding three good things will always leave us in preference to a fuller one padded with a fourth that doesn't belong.

  4. We promise not to argue for a gift by comparing it to a price.

We do not publish a contents value, and we do not set our prices beside a recommended retail price or anybody else's. A Curated Collection should be chosen for what is in it, not for what it saves you.

  5. We promise to choose naturally derived formulations and materials made to last, and to be specific rather than vague about what that means for any given piece.

Where a maker's own record tells us who made something and how, we will pass it on. Where it doesn't, we won't imply otherwise.

  6. We promise not to overstate.

We will not describe ourselves as something we are not, claim a certification we have not earned, or attach a story to a product that doesn't have one. If a thing is simply very good, that is enough to say about it.

  7. We promise no surprises at checkout.

Delivery is free on every order, and you have 30 days to change your mind.

  8. We promise to put things right.

If a Curated Collection arrives damaged, or something inside is not what it should be, tell us and we will replace it or refund it — whichever suits you better. We would rather hear about it than not.

You can read more about the thinking behind this in our Ethics & Responsibility and Sustainability pages, and the full detail in Delivery & Returns.

We are a young brand, and we would rather tell you that than pretend otherwise.
