What it is
Ocean seaweed — green, mineral, faintly salted, and one of the few hand creams that does not read as floral. Non-greasy and quick to absorb, which is the whole job.
Seventy-five millilitres with aloe vera and shea butter, in an aluminium tube rather than plastic. Made on the maker's own farm in East Sussex by The English Soap Company, from the collection marking twenty-five years of soap-making.
This is the one we pick when a composition needs a hand cream that will suit anybody. A green, faintly salted scent is a safer choice than a floral for someone whose taste you do not know.
It suits a man who assumes hand cream is not for him, a colleague you know only slightly, and anyone who washes their hands a great deal. Small, plain, and used to the end of the tube — which is more than most gifts manage.
