What it is

A kraft pouch with a window cut into it, and behind the window a swirl of lilac and pink. Sprinkle a little under a running tap and it foams and colours the water; the line on the front of the pack is the whole method, and at 190g a pouch goes a long way. The violet is the old-fashioned sweet-shop kind rather than anything from a garden — powdery, soft and unmistakable. Made in small batches by Ancient Wisdom. It is a powder, so it keeps best somewhere dry: a shelf suits it better than the edge of the bath.

Presentation
