What it is
Ocean seaweed — green, mineral, and the least floral thing this maker makes. It is the set we reach for when the person opening it has had enough of roses.
Three pieces: a 190 gram soap bar, a 75 millilitre hand cream in an aluminium tube, and a soap saver pouch. Boxed in illustrated card, with no plastic in the packing. Made on a farm in East Sussex by The English Soap Company.
Everything in the box gets used, which is not true of every set — there is nothing in it to be admired and then left. The bar and the cream are the two things a bathroom always needs, and the pouch is the part nobody thinks to buy for themselves.
It suits a man who is hard to buy for, a thank-you that should not read as flowers, or anyone whose bathroom already smells of somebody else's choices. Green and mineral is a narrower taste than lavender, and the better choice when you already know it fits.
