What it is
Three bars of a hundred grams each, lemon and mandarin, wrapped in patterned paper and boxed in card with nothing plastic involved. Citrus is the safest thing to give someone whose taste you do not know, and three bars last long enough to be remembered.
Pure vegetable oils with shea butter, made on a farm in East Sussex by The English Soap Company. Three hundred grams of soap in total. Shea butter is the part that keeps a lather soft rather than squeaky.
There is no film to peel off and nothing to rewrap. It can go straight into a larger box as it is, and the whole of it goes in the paper recycling afterwards.
We keep this one for the compositions that need something bright without being loud. It suits a thank-you, a new neighbour, or anyone whose bathroom you have never seen.
