What it is
Three hundred and fifty grams of bath salt blended with ylang ylang, lemon and orange oils, boxed alongside sixteen soap flowers. Eight roses and eight sunflowers, all in pale pink. Made in the UK by Wild Hare.
The salts are the working half of the set; the flowers are for the side of the bath, or for guests who deserve better than the family soap. Sixteen is enough to keep a dish full for a while and still lose a few to visitors. The box is wide and flat, which is the shape that wraps well.
Three oils go into the salt — ylang ylang, lemon and orange — two of them citrus. Three hundred and fifty grams is a run of baths rather than a single occasion. Salt keeps best somewhere dry, so the box is better in a cupboard than on a windowsill.
For a housewarming, a fortieth, or the friend whose bathroom is already halfway to being the nicest room in the flat. Two things in one box: one to use, one to look at.
