What it is
Osmanthus and rose — a warmer, more apricot-leaning rose than the usual. Less powder, more fruit.
A 240 gram bar, wrapped in a botanical illustration and no plastic at all. Pure vegetable oils with shea butter through the bar, and a slow, soft lather rather than a fast foam. Made in East Sussex by The English Soap Company, for the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew collection.
It suits autumn compositions, and anyone who has decided they have outgrown rose. We rather enjoy proving them wrong.
Good as a small gift on its own, and good as the piece that carries the scent of a larger one. Soap asks nothing of the person opening it: no shelf, no decision, no instructions. It is used, and then it is gone, which is a quality more gifts could stand to have.
