Orders start at £20, so this one travels with company. Anything from £3 takes it past the line, or The Bud stands on its own.

What it is

Painted lemons on a plain ground, printed onto a linen-cotton blend that dries a glass without leaving anything behind on it. Linen in the mix is the reason: it is less absorbent than cotton in the hand but far quicker to let go of water, which is the whole job.

Linen is a flax fibre, and the quick drying is a property of the fibre rather than a finish added to the cloth.

Sophie Allport draws this sort of thing from a studio in Lincolnshire. A tea towel is a small object to have an opinion about, and this one is worth the opinion.

For a housewarming, a thank-you that does not need a card, or the person in your life who washes wine glasses by hand. Small enough to go in alongside something else, and good enough to stand on its own.

A small parcel tied with twine and a blank card on an oak table.

Presentation

Every order is packed by hand. Just the items, simply wrapped is how it travels unless you say otherwise, and it costs nothing. A presentation level dresses it for giving — one for the whole order, chosen in your basket.

The Sprig +£3.50: tissue wrap, ribbon, handwritten note card
The Garland +£7.50: gift box, tissue wrap, ribbon, handwritten note card, dried-botanical sprig
The Wreath +£15: keepsake rigid box or basket, shredded-paper nest, ribbon, handwritten note card, dried-botanical arrangement, wax seal

Add the handwritten card at checkout and we write your message out by hand. How we wrap.

Our promise

Every piece here is chosen on its own merits by a person who has handled the alternatives and set most of them aside. Some of what we sell we make ourselves; the rest is made by other people and chosen by us, and we say which is which.

If it arrives damaged, faulty or not as described, we replace it or refund it, and we pay the return postage. Our Promise, written down.

Not sure this is the one? The Bud is composed by hand around pieces like it, and the contents stay a secret until it is opened.

No reviews are shown on this page yet. Ours come only from verified orders and are published as written, from the first one we approve. How reviews work.
