What it is

Strawberry is the sweetest of the six fragrances — jam rather than fresh fruit. It is not a dinner-party scent and has never been sold as one. It is the one for a teenager's room, a student flat, or a bathroom that could do with cheering up.

Amber glass, a ribbed gold screw lid, and a kraft paper label naming the fragrance in loose hand-lettered print. A hundred grams of cream wax, small enough for the corner of a desk or the edge of the bath. The lid screws back on, and the scent stays in the jar.

Because the lid threads down rather than resting on top, the jar can go in a bag or a drawer without the scent going with it. The glass has a second life afterwards, too — a jar this size ends up holding hair grips, matches or paperclips.

Six fragrances in the range: bergamot, gardenia, jasmine, peppermint, strawberry and vanilla, each on its own listing. A small present, a stocking piece, or the one you add so a bigger gift is not travelling alone.

Presentation
