What it is
Vanilla is the baked-warm one — quiet enough for a desk corner or the edge of the bath. It is the safe choice of the six, and there is no shame in that. It is the one to pick when the room it is going into is somebody else's.
Amber glass with a ribbed gold screw lid, and a kraft paper label naming the fragrance in loose script. Cream wax and a single central wick, 100g, sitting just below the shoulders of a palm-sized jar. The lid goes back on when the evening is done, keeping the scent to itself.
A screw lid rather than a loose one means the jar can go in a wash bag or a drawer and come out the same. The glass is worth washing out at the end, as well — a jar this size takes matches, hair grips or a week of loose change.
Six fragrances in the range — bergamot, gardenia, jasmine, peppermint, strawberry and vanilla — one jar of each, and each on its own listing. Vanilla is the one most likely to be lit rather than saved, which is a useful quality in a small gift.
