What it is
Rainforest Gardenia, from MG Studio's Botanical Collection: 200ml of amber liquid in a glass bottle, threaded through with dried botanicals under a gold-tone cap. The botanicals make it an object as much as a fragrance, which matters for something that will sit out in the open rather than in a cupboard.
The box is tall and royal blue, printed with white blossom, with a window that frames the bottle. A bundle of pale reeds is tucked into the side. A sheer ribbon loop at the top does most of the wrapping for you.
Nothing to light, nothing to blow out. A reed diffuser releases through the stems rather than all at once, so it earns its place in the rooms people pass through — a hall, a landing, the turn at the top of the stairs.
For a new home, a thank-you, or the friend whose hallway is the first thing anyone meets when the door opens. The ribbon loop means it can go from the shelf to somebody's hands without a detour through the wrapping paper.
Set it down, slot the reeds, and leave it alone.
