What it is
A fine silver-plated chain carrying eight pear-shaped clear stones in a shallow arc, each in its own smooth bezel. The two at the ends are a little larger and tilted outward. A small round stone hangs just right of centre, catching the light as the chain moves.
That off-centre stone is the whole character of the piece. A symmetrical arc would sit politely; this one does not quite, and it is better for it. A bezel holds a stone flush rather than gripping it from above, which is the general reason bezel-set pieces have less to catch on.
Silver plated, which is a surface finish rather than solid silver, and we would rather say so than let it be assumed. From Stella Rose London. It arrives in a hinged box printed pale blue with butterflies and foliage.
A white grosgrain tab lifts the card out with the necklace already arranged on it, so there is nothing to unpick and nothing to wrap. For a birthday, or a bridesmaid on the morning, when one clear decision is worth more than a choice.
