What it is
A small landscape — hills, a path, a wide sky — printed onto cotton and worked in a four-inch hoop. Landscapes suit the mini format: nothing is fiddly, just bands of colour laid one above another until a hill looks like a hill.
Pre-printed 100% cotton, DMC stranded cotton, a ten-centimetre wooden hoop, a needle and both guides, in a gift box. Pre-printed means the design is on the cloth when it arrives — no tracing, no transfer paper, nothing to scale up. Boxed as it comes, so it can be handed over without wrapping.
Designed and made in small batches in a rural Dorset studio.
Ten centimetres of hoop is small enough to work on a lap or on a train, where a large one wants a table and both elbows.
For a first go at embroidery, or for a walker who would rather have a hill on the shelf than a photograph of one.
