What it is
A fox in stranded cotton, printed onto the fabric before you start, so the drawing is already done and you are only ever filling it in. Six or so stitches, each explained in the illustrated booklet, none of them assuming you have embroidered before. Pre-printed also means no tracing and no transfer paper.
Everything is in the box: pre-printed 100% cotton, DMC stranded cotton thread, a needle, a seven-inch wooden hoop and a stitch and colour guide. The finished piece stays in the hoop and hangs as it is, fifteen by ten centimetres — small enough for a shelf, a landing, or the gap beside a door.

The stitch and colour guide names which thread goes where, so none of the deciding is waiting at the start. That is most of what makes a first kit workable.
For a first attempt at embroidery, and for anyone who has been meaning to start something with their hands in the evening rather than a screen.
