What it is
Heather and hillside in purples, greens and greys, printed on the cloth so you can start on the evening it arrives. The stitches are the ordinary ones, a handful of them, all set out in the booklet. Massed heather is exactly the sort of texture they do well.
Seven-inch wooden hoop, pre-printed 100% cotton, DMC stranded cotton, a needle and both guides, boxed. Printed cloth means no tracing and no transfer paper, and the composition is settled before you thread up.
From a small Dorset studio where the kits are put together by hand.
Massed texture is kind to an uneven stitch, since no single one is carrying the design on its own — which is part of why heather suits a beginner better than a straight line would. Purples, greens and greys, and nothing in that palette loud enough to fight a wall.
For someone who walks in hills, or has just moved somewhere without any, and for a first go at embroidery that does not start with a sampler.
