What it is
Three trivets in undyed cork, thick enough to stand a casserole on without thinking about it. Cork is one of the few materials that shrug at heat and still feels warm to the hand, which is why it has outlasted every trendier alternative on the kitchen table.
A set of three means the roasting tin, the pan and the teapot all have somewhere to land at once. Made in Cornwall by LIGA from hand-harvested cork oak bark, undecorated, and the better for it. Undyed, so the colour is the bark's own.
Cork is light as well as heat-tolerant, which is the reason a trivet can be moved out of the way with one hand while the other is still holding a dish. Three is the number that stops a trivet being something you have to go and find.
For a cook who serves at the table, a new kitchen, or the household currently using a chopping board and hoping for the best.
