What it is

Merino is the wool people mean when they say they cannot wear wool and then can. Finer fibre, softer hand, the same herringbone structure — this is the blanket that ends up on the bed rather than the chair, because it is the one that feels good against a neck.

Herringbone is the repeating zigzag that comes from the weave itself, structural here rather than printed on. The colour is a pale, smoked blue that stays quiet in a room. Wool, woven in Donegal and designed in Bristol by The British Blanket Company.

Merino is finer than the wool in the other blankets here, which is what a neck notices. This is the most expensive thing in the Home edit, and the one most likely to be kept for twenty years.

For a wedding, a new house, or the person who has said more than once that wool makes them itch. Give it to someone you expect to keep it.

A small parcel tied with twine and a blank card on an oak table.

Our promise

Every piece here is chosen on its own merits by a person who has handled the alternatives and set most of them aside. Some of what we sell we make ourselves; the rest is made by other people and chosen by us, and we say which is which.

If it arrives damaged, faulty or not as described, we replace it or refund it, and we pay the return postage. Our Promise, written down.

No reviews are shown on this page yet. Ours come only from verified orders and are published as written, from the first one we approve. How reviews work.
