What it is
A card shaped like a cassette with a small recorder inside it: press to record up to two minutes, and it plays back whenever the card is opened. It can be wiped and recorded over as often as you like, so it need not be a one-occasion object. The message is the gift; the card is what carries it.
Mostly paper, a hundred by sixty-five millimetres and 24 grams, which is light enough to post as a letter rather than a parcel. It runs on three replaceable LR54 cells, so a flat set is not the end of it. Worth saying plainly: those are button cells, and it should be kept away from small children and pets.

For the distance between people, and for anyone who would rather hear a voice than read one. It can be recorded again next year, which is the part most cards cannot manage.
