What it is
The colour is the reason to choose this one: an ombre brown that sits deep at the base and lifts as it climbs, so the glass is darkest where there is most behind it. It is the shorter of the two Ancient Wisdom sizes.
Low suits a crowded surface. A windowsill, a bathroom ledge, the end of a dressing table where everything is already spoken for — a short object sits where a tall one will not, behind a tap or under a shelf.
It makes a straightforward present for someone who has just moved into a small flat. Nothing there has a permanent place yet, and this asks for very little of one.
Petalby Home is a shelf of objects that have to earn their place. This one earns a narrow one, and there is a taller version for a hall table.
