Embroidery hoops, needle-felting wool and macramé rope, each boxed with the materials and the instructions. Hawthorn's embroidery designs arrive pre-printed on cotton, worked in DMC stranded cotton.
The hoop they arrive in is the frame they hang in — nothing to trace at the start, nothing to mount at the end.
Needle felting trades thread for British and merino wool and two barbed needles, sharp enough that the maker gives them fourteen and up. The foam working block is a separate item, and the macramé kits never include plant pots. Some booklets say they assume no experience; one felt appliqué kit says plainly that it expects you to have held a needle.
Hawthorn Handmade's kits are put together by hand in rural Dorset, Corinne Lapierre's in a small Yorkshire studio. A short stationery shelf sits alongside it in Petalby Crafts; this is the part you finish yourself.
