What it is
Harris Tweed woven in the Outer Hebrides, made up into a dog collar by a small sewing team in England. The outer is a quiet muted herringbone; the lining is a deep red patterned cotton, which only the person doing the buckling ever sees.
The Harris Tweed Authority label is stitched into the seam, so the cloth is the real thing rather than a tweed-ish print. A nylon core does the holding, with metal buckle and eyelets. Twenty-two millimetres wide, with an extra small at seventeen to eighteen.
Muted is the right word, and it is the point — the collar does not compete with the dog. For a dog walked in all weathers, and for an owner who likes the idea of the Outer Hebrides on something worn somewhere considerably less scenic. A matching lead is made in the same herringbone with the same red lining.
