What it is
A hare mid-stride, worked in DMC stranded cotton on fabric that arrives pre-printed, so nothing has to be traced or transferred. The booklet takes you through setting the cloth in the hoop and the six stitches the design uses, and the pattern forgives a wobbly line.
Seven-inch wooden hoop, pre-printed 100% cotton, threads, a needle, an illustrated guide and a colour chart, all in a gift box. The finished design measures fifteen by nine centimetres and stays in the hoop to hang, so there is no framing to arrange or pay for afterwards. Made up by hand in a rural Dorset studio.
Six stitches is a short list to learn, and enough to carry a whole design — which is why a kit like this one is where a lot of people start. The colour chart names which thread goes where, so nothing has to be matched by eye.
For a first attempt at embroidery, or for someone who already stitches and would like a hare on the landing wall. It is boxed as it comes, so it can go straight to whoever it is for.
