Orosay Hebridean Heather Dog Collar

What it is

A herringbone Harris Tweed in the yellow-greens of Hebridean heather, lined with a floral cotton. It is the warmest-toned collar of the tweed set and the one that suits a sandy-coated dog best, if that is the sort of thing you find yourself thinking about.

Made in Great Britain by the maker's own sewing team, with the Harris Tweed Authority label stitched into the seam. Metal buckle and eyelets, a nylon inner core, and twenty-two millimetres of width — seventeen to eighteen in the extra small.

The floral lining faces inward, so it is seen by whoever does the buckling and by nobody else. Measure the neck before choosing a size.

Herringbone at this scale reads as texture rather than pattern, which is why tweed sits well on a dog where a bold check would not. For a spaniel, a retriever, or anything wheaten and slightly scruffy, and for an owner who has decided the dog's kit may as well be pleasant to look at. Yellow-green is an unusual colour for a collar, which is rather the point of choosing it.
