What it is
The everyday glove with the cuff extended up the forearm, which is the difference between pruning a rose and regretting it. Artificial suede palms hold their grip and stay flexible when they get wet. The cuffs and backs are heavyweight cotton ticking.
Stretch mesh between the fingers keeps the hand cool and lets it close properly around a stem. Soft lined inside, one size. Machine washable at 30 degrees.
The long cuff is the whole point: it covers the forearm where a short glove stops and a bramble does not. Everything above the wrist is cloth rather than suede, so it is cover rather than armour.
For pruning, cutting back, and clearing the corner of the garden that has got away from you over a season. It suits someone who already owns gloves and keeps catching a wrist on something anyway. Bramble, rose, blackthorn — the jobs where the forearm is the part that suffers.
