Bath, body and quiet ritual

Soap, bath salt, a loofah or a soft face cloth, and a few well-made things to sit beside them. We choose each piece for how it feels to use first, and for the name on it second. If we would not want it in our own bathroom, it does not come in.
We look at a great deal and keep a little. Each piece is judged next to the others it would be packed with, not on its own, and most of what we see is set aside. That leaves a short shelf of good things rather than a long one.
